Lilly's Story

Lilly came to us from a miniature horse farm that specialized in breeding miniature appaloosas, but since Lilly was a paint, they decided to sell her. When she came, she was malnourished and had a dull coat, glassy eyes and no energy. It took some time and tender loving care, but she gained a lot of weight on all the grass, hay and feed when she got here and seemed to become more energetic and truly blossomed. Lilly came to the farm so she could be a playmate for Teddy Bear, one of the sweetest miniature horse foals you could ask for. She was an absolute angel and such a special pony since she came to the farm. Lilly would always be the pony to share her food with all her pony friends, but her best friend was always Teddy Bear. They were best friends for life and you could always find her either sleeping in the pasture or grooming and playing with Teddy. She wasn't trained to ride, but she was so sweet and so willing to learn that it only took a week to train her to be a leadline pony! She always went to events with Teddy bear, one of them being the Cowboys for Christ functions where she would get all dolled up, hair braided, bows and ribbons in her mane - everyone always loved that, she was truly an angel! One day, there was a trailer accident and Lilly unfortunately got hurt, but Teddy Bear was fine. One day she fell out of the trailer and scraped her knees. Her legs were wrapped and cleaned everyday as the vet instructed. She got a joint infection despite all care we gave, that just would not heal and it ended up attacking her nervous system. The vet said there was no hope so it was decided that the best option was to put her down so she no longer had to suffer or be in any pain. When she passed, the pain that caused her to lay down instead of galloping in the field with her best friend Teddy, finally left her and she went to a better place, Heaven. There she never feel pain again and is happily galloping around like she used to with Teddy Bear. She our little guardian angel Pony <3

Ever since Lilly left, Teddy was always depressed being the only miniature pony. He got several new mini friends but he never bonded with any of them like he bonded with Lilly.  Now, he has lots of new friends and loves to play with them at his new home!
